: Great location - around the corner from the Zocalo, was safe to walk around as a solo female traveller, it was clean and the staff were nice and were patient and able to speak English with me.
: These issues are not direct criticism of the place but should be things to keep in mind when traveling around Mexico. The wifi was patchy in my room. The connection would cut off when streaming videos every so often but useable for basic browsing. I feel this is an issue with the internet in Oaxaca and not specific to the hotel. The beds were super firm - beware if you’re fussy with beds. I had a room directly facing the hotel’s restaurant so it would get noisy with preparation for breakfast etc. I think in general, the noise pollution in Mexico is greater than other places so I would advise people to bring ear plugs if they’re sensitive to noise, or otherwise stay further away from the centre of town.

: No air conditioning; room was warm at night even with fan on.

: Overall, this was a nice place to stay for our final few nights in Oaxaca. The hotel itself is lovely, an old casa with a central courtyard where breakfast was served, and the 2nd-floor rooms were situated along balconies looking into the court. The staff was friendly and competent. The breakfasts were very good--not included in the price of our room (because we used a credit card), but reasonably priced (about US$4.50 per person) and from a good menu. Our room was neat and clean, and the location (about a block east of Zocalo Plaza and the Cathedral) was convenient for walking around the central part of the "old" city. Purified, bottled water is provided for the rooms.
: It was very hot during our stay (90+ C), and the lack of AC in the room was a challenge. The ceiling fan didn't do much, but a floor fan was movable and, with it blowing directly on the bed at night, we were able to sleep comfortably. The hotel is on a busy street which was noisy throughout the day and evening, so leaving the balcony door (facing the street) open at night wasn't really an option. Otherwise, we found these accommodations to be quite satisfactory.

: Breakfast was good. Location was good as well. Walking distance from the center of town, markets and other sites.
: The room didn't have windows and was stuffy, but it did have a fan.
